What You’ll Do

Working under the direction and supervision of an Occupational Therapist, the Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA/OTA) provides hands-on care and supports the delivery of individualized occupational therapy programs.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide direct patient care in accordance with individualized treatment plans established by the Occupational Therapist.

  • Implement therapeutic activities and interventions designed to improve patients' functional abilities, independence, and quality of life.

  • Monitor patient responses and progress and communicate observations with the supervising Occupational Therapist.

  • Assist patients in developing and improving skills needed for daily activities and functional independence.

  • Collaborate with nurses, therapists, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.

  • Educate and encourage patients and families throughout the rehabilitation process.

  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.

  • Follow established clinical standards, policies, and procedures.

  • Remain flexible and responsive to the needs of the hospital and patients.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Education & Licensure

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.

  • Current OTA license in the state where the hospital or clinic is located.

  • Current BLS certification required.

Experience

    • One year of clinical experience preferred.

    • Inpatient hospital experience preferred, but motivated candidates with a strong desire to learn and grow are encouraged to apply.
