Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer, the ECT Registered Nurse is responsible for utilizing the nursing process while delivering, directing and supervising care to patients admitted to the nursing unit. The ECT Registered Nurse plans, coordinates, and provides patient care to include interdisciplinary planning, discharge planning, patient and family teaching for post-hospitalization, and accessing community resources. Provides nursing care through physical and nursing assessments prior to ECT, during and after the procedure, laboratory testing, plans of care and therapeutic treatments. Knowledgeable of a wide range of disorders; cognitive, emotional, developmental, social and behavioral. Performs crisis intervention.

Qualifications

  • Education and Training: Holds current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state where the hospital resides. Associates degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program required. Current BLS certification is required. Current ACLS certification is required. Crisis management certification per hospital policy and standards required.
  • Previous ECT experience is desired but not required. Ambulatory surgery setting for pre op, intra op, and post op will be considered for this role.
  • Experience: A minimum of one (1) year experience in a behavioral healthcare setting preferred
