Responsibilities

  • Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement
  • Submit and follow up on prior authorization requests for inpatient and outpatient services
  • Collaborate with clinical staff, payers, and patients to resolve authorization-related issues promptly
  • Coordinate hospital admissions by ensuring all required documentation and approvals are obtained
  • Conducts and arranges facility tours
  • Provides recommendations to the Admissions manager regarding hiring and performance management of staff, where applicable.

Qualifications

Education and Training: A High School diploma or equivalent is required.  Associates degree or administrative healthcare certification preferred.
 
Experience:  
  • At least one (1) year experience in a medical office position conducting insurance verifications, prior-authorizations, and patient registration functions is required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology required.
