Overview

The Vice President of Reimbursement at PAM Health is responsible for leading all reimbursement functions across the organization’s national network of long-term acute care hospitals (LTACHs), inpatient rehabilitation facilities (IRFs), and behavioral health hospitals. This role ensures accurate cost reporting, regulatory compliance, and payer strategy to maximize revenue integrity and financial performance in accordance with CMS and commercial payer guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead PAM Health’s reimbursement strategy across LTACH, IRF, and behavioral health service lines.
  • Oversee preparation, accuracy, and timely filing of Medicare and Medicaid cost reports; manage audits and appeals.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant CMS reimbursement systems, including LTCH PPS, IRF PPS, and IPF PPS.
  • Evaluate and implement reimbursement changes based on federal and state regulatory updates.
  • Support managed care strategy by providing financial modeling and reimbursement impact analysis for contracting.
  • Monitor performance against expected reimbursement rates; identify risks and recommend corrective actions.
  • Partner with finance, operations, clinical leadership, and compliance to align strategies and support growth.
  • Lead analysis of case mix, length of stay, census, and program changes on reimbursement outcomes.
  • Provide executive leadership with clear insights and forecasts related to reimbursement performance and trends.
  • Oversee state reporting requirements
  • Track state and federal reimbursement changes
  • Oversee state and federal health tax regimes (SHOPP, LPPF, CHIP, etc)
  • Oversee impact analysis of proposed rule changes, changes in SSI, CCRs etc.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in healthcare reimbursement, with specific expertise in LTACH, IRF, and behavioral health settings preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid payment systems, cost reporting, and managed care reimbursement structures.
  • Proven leadership in a multi-site healthcare environment.
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and communication skills with executive-level presence.
